A Travelling Scholarship enabled him to continue his studies with Lennox Berkeley, in London.

He has been commissioned by many Festivals, Societies and leading performers including Evelyn Glennie, Nicholas Daniel, Peter Seivewright and the Fine Arts Brass Ensemble, and he has also written extensively for younger players including four children's operas. Future projects include a clarinet concert for David Campbell and a piano trio for the Schubert Ensemble. His music is performed and broadcast widely both in Britain and abroad.
