Adam Gorb

Adam Gorb studied music at Cambridge University and with Paul Patterson at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he won several prizes including the Principal's Prize. He has written a wide variety of works, many of which have been performed at leading venues in the UK and abroad. Recent works include a Viola Concerto for Martin Outram and the Docklands Sinfonietta;
Metropolis for Wind Band which won several prizes including the Walter Beeler memorial prize in the USA in 1994 and is available on CD;
Prelude, Interlude and Postlude for piano which won the Purcell composition prize in 1995; Kol Simcha, a ballet for the Rambert dance company:
Awayday for Wind Band which has had several hundred performances since its premiere in 1996; a Percussion Concerto for Evelyn Glennie and a Clarinet Concerto for Nicholas Cox and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. 2000 saw the first performances of Symphony no. 1 in C for the Royal Northern College of Music Wind Ensemble, Weimar for the Purcell School Contemporary Music Ensemble and
